The Hance Family Foundation helps us encourage our girls with their expertise in social-emotional learning.

The student council, a representative government within our building, is a tool to familiarize our younger generation to democracy, leadership, and decision-making in the affairs of P.S./I.S 208. The student-candidates will make persuasive speeches to gain the YES vote while introducing his/her ideas and plans to the voters. Mrs. DiSalvio and Dr. Akram steer these individuals in the direction needed in order to help serve their school. Be on the look out for our candidates in the coming weeks!

Each month of the school year, teachers from grades Kindergarten through 8, are asked to nominate a student from their class whom exhibits the character trait which represents the current month. Our first Student of the Month ceremony is being held on October 25th to honor students who were nominated for the months of September and October. Mrs. DiSalvio and Mrs. Mikhail host a celebration honoring each student. We are a non-profit organization and one of the largest providers of school-based afterschool programs in New York City and the metropolitan region. We impact nearly 40,000 students from over 100 sites in grades K-12 typically in underserved neighborhoods. Programs run before or after the school day, year-round (including Saturdays, over the summer, and holiday periods).
